CSM2, a specialist equipment manufacturer supplying maritime atmosphere control systems and support services, has an exciting opportunity to join the In Service Support team.
The Senior Project Manager role manages projects of various sizes and scales, overseeing teams and functions within CMS2 to deliver exceptional support services. They are accountable for all In Service Support project deliveries. This role involves leading, coaching, and developing the ISS Project Managers and ISS Engineers, with support to the ISS Technical Manager, to provide exemplary support services to all customers by delivering on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coach a team of ISS Project Managers and ISS Engineers in support and contractual activities, with revenue responsibility, reporting to the ISS Director.
* Manage all in-service project activities, customer support reporting, project status updates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
* Draft and review project proposals, ensuring scope, financials, assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies align with CMS2 standards.
* Line management of ISS Project Managers and Engineers.
* Support the ISS Technical Manager with engineering requirements and tasks.
* Manage matrix resources across engineering, production, and supply chain.
* Oversee the UK MOD Support contract (~50% FTE).
* Represent the company to customers regarding project delivery schedules, supporting ISS PMs.
* Assist in developing and implementing in-service support strategies aligned with business goals and contracts.
* Lead customer meetings to address issues and identify improvements.
* Handle escalations and work towards continuous improvement.
* Provide feedback on serviceability for new design contracts.
* Ensure contractual and project baselines are robust, and control management is effective to manage change and reporting.
* Collaborate with operations and production to ensure planning and delivery meet customer requirements.
* Support team development, promote best practices, and maximize efficiency.
* Develop and monitor KPIs, contract metrics, risks, opportunities, and budgets.
* Manage customer reporting for availability and maintenance contracts.
* Handle customer change requests through established change management processes.
* Identify and strategize risk management for contractual risks.
* Monitor equipment performance and customer feedback for improvements.
* Engage with stakeholders across global prime contractors and defense industry users for effective stakeholder management.

* Perform ad-hoc duties supporting business needs.
* Carry out critical internal activities (e.g., Ops II Management, MRP, CRM).
* Provide backup support during peak times or absences.
* Maintain professional development and industry knowledge.
* Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills; ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
* Professional knowledge of working in a complex, regulated engineering environment.
* Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing preferred.
* Proven experience managing contracts/projects to scope, time, cost, and quality.
* Strong presentation skills and professional demeanor.
* Attention to detail, planning, budgeting, and financial acumen.
* Knowledge of risk and opportunity management, lessons learned.
* Business management awareness.
* Experience in the Defense Industry and managing small teams.
* Background in Marine, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, or OEM sectors advantageous.
* Understanding of Matrix Management and ERP/MRP systems.
* Knowledge of ISO9001 or similar QMS, UK Health & Safety legislation (IOSH).
* Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
* Willingness to travel within the UK as required.
Other requirements
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and pass UK security clearance (Security Check level), which generally requires 5 years of UK residence.
