We are looking for an experienced Quality/Welding Inspector, with a keen eye for detail, to support all QA/QC activities across fabrication, welding, and manufacturing operations. The successful candidate would need to possess strong technical competence in engineering drawing interpretation, experience in completing dimensional checks to tolerance, and weld inspection, and the ability to produce and manage all required QA/QC documentation from project review to completing the final document pack.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Technical Tasks
* Interpret and verify thatengineering drawings,specifications, and technical documents are current, to the correct Revision, and within the capabilities of the company.
* ApplyGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) during inspections and document creation.
* Conductvisual weld inspections in accordance with relevant standards (EN/ISO & ASME etc).
* Inspect fabricated and welded components for dimensional, contractual, procedural accuracy and compliance.
* Use calibrated measurement equipment (e.g., verniers, thermometers, clamp meters etc) to complete detailed inspections and audits.
Quality Documentation & Project Close‑Out
* Produce all required documentation to compileJob Packs / QA Binders at project completion.
* Generate and maintainInspection & Test Plans (ITPs) andControl Plans aligned with project and customer requirements.
* Raise Concessions & Technical Queries as and when needed.
* Complete Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), Quality Reports, and Inspection Records.
* Organise and maintain traceability of materials, weld maps, consumables, certificates, and inspection results.
Welding & Fabrication Competence
* Understand and verify compliance withWelding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) andWelding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
* Support production teams with technical interpretation of welding requirements.
* Liaise with welders, supervisors, engineering and design teams to resolve quality issues and promote best practices.
Quality Improvement & Support
* Assist with root‑cause analysis and development ofCorrective and Preventive Actions Plans.
* Support internal audits and external customer/third‑party inspections.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QMS.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
* Solid understanding ofGD&T.
* Previous experience inwelding and fabrication environments.
* Experience in weld inspection and fabrication inspection.
* Knowledge of producing ITPs, Control Plans, and quality documentation.
* Confident with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
Desirable (Not Essential) Qualifications & Experience
* CSWIP/PCN Weld Inspection.
* Experience working with WPQR/WPS development or verification.
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ISO 3834, ASME IX, EN 1090, etc.).
