We are recruiting for a Mechanical Associate Director to join our Building Environments team in our Manchester office.
The role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of engaging and dynamic projects both in the UK and globally, including high-profile projects such as:
* Wrexham AFC Kop Stand Redevelopment, Wrexham (Populous)
* MMU Library Transformation Project, Manchester (Hawkinsext{Brown})
* Sister Manchester Plot C, Manchester (Allies & Morrison)
Our Manchester Building Services (MEP) team is involved in challenging projects, delivering innovative design solutions across HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines, emphasizing sustainability and resource efficiency.
Key Duties
* Lead and manage the mechanical team, taking project leadership as needed.
* Engage directly with clients, providing innovative design solutions and managing expectations.
* Develop technical and financial proposals for new projects.
* Manage workload and resources of engineers and technicians.
* Prepare technical specifications and monitor project financial performance.
* Undertake detailed mechanical design and calculations using Revit and IES software, with an understanding of embodied carbon.
* Embrace technologies to enhance performance and sustainability towards net zero targets by 2030.
* Ensure projects meet standards, deadlines, and budgets.
* Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior team members.
Your Skills and Experience
* Extensive mechanical design experience in an MEP consultancy, with project leadership experience.
* Diverse sector experience, ideally with large-scale projects.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
* Professional registration (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE).
* Good understanding of other design disciplines.
* Experience with analysis software like Revit and IES; willingness to learn new tools.
* Digital engineering skills are advantageous.
