An opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and capable individual to join our production team in Bradford in the role of Screen Print Operative.
Reporting to the Conversion Manager, the successful candidate will undertake manual screen printing on polyurethane (PU) materials used in the manufacture of medical devices, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Additionally, the successful applicant can expect to provide support to the wider production team in delivering components that meet strict performance and cleanliness requirements essential to medical-grade products.
Duties of the role will require the postholder to occasionally assist in other areas of the production area, including packing and loading duties and assisting with the clean-up of the production and break areas.
Key tasks and accountabilities associated with the role are as follows:
Operate a manual screen print bench to print onto PU materials with a high level of accuracy and repeatability.
Prepare printing screens, including cleaning, alignment, and stencil setup.
Follow work instructions/patterns and techniques to produce product.
Ensure printed materials meet quality control standards, including alignment, opacity, and adhesion.
Collaborate with QA and production teams to identify and resolve any process or material issues.
Handle materials carefully to avoid contamination, damage, or wastage.
It is essential applicants possess previous experience with manual screen printing, ideally in a precision-focused or regulated environment, a good understanding of inks, mesh screens, and substrate preparation, especially on polyurethane or plastic materials and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to work with consistency on fine, repetitive tasks.
Applicants should also possess an understanding of quality control principles and basic inspection techniques.
Any experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., ISO 13485) would be a distinct advantage as would familiarity with documentation and traceability requirements in regulated industries however this is not essential.
Our production team is a happy team therefore it is important the successful applicant has good verbal communication skills, be flexible in approach to work and possess experience of working in a busy team, collaborating with colleagues. Good timekeeping and attendance are essential as is attention to detail.
