My client is seeking to provide large scale investment to increase their current manufacturing output across there multiple sites based in Derbyshire. The business is a historic manufacturing market-leader within the area, having a history spanning almost 40 years in Derbyshire. The business has a turnover of circa £70M and now operates across multiple sites, alongside a growing European and US network. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in the company's strategic growth, whilst also leading improvement within their current operation.
Job Description
As a Financial Director you will report in to the Managing Director on a daily basis. You will have full responsibility all financial aspects of company strategy, strategically working with the board of directors - within our Derby headquarters - alongside the following areas:
* Overall responsible to provide leadership and strategic financial advice and guidance to ensure business objectives and goals can be met in a timely fashion.
* To act as a direct advisor to both the board of director and Managing Director on all financial and commercial matters regarding the operation in Derby.
* Responsible for a team of 15 across key business areas - such as finance, management accounts, human resources and IT.
* Key leader of all operational financial matters arising within the business
* Produce, review and analyse the annual budget and drive the business towards achieving our financial targets.
* Key responsibility to produce and review consolidated management accounts for our business group.
* Monitor financial performance, providing financial modelling and forecasts to the strategic leadership time.
* Report to the board and external stakeholders on our financial performance
* Manage external relationships with Auditors, Bank, Insurance Brokers and Suppliers
* Manage working capital and cash flow forecasts alongside the operational finance team.
* Manage all HMRC relatable contact - including our research & development tax submissions.
* Utilising continuous improvement to promote cost reductions and financial improvements across all areas of the manufacturing & distribution operations. This includes liasing with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Managing our foreign currency exposure and hedging strategies across our various locations.
* Responsibility for all companies house reporting and any filings.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in freight forwarding across both import and export. The ideal Regional Freight General Manager will have the following skills and experience:
* 5-10 years experience in the financial field and ideally within a manufacturing or engineering based business.
* Proven experience operating within a Financial Directorship opportunity desirably within an SME business background.
* History of leading and managing a finance team across multiple locations and / or countries.
* Qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
* Excellent strategic commercial acumen and leadership abilities.
* Commutable to either of our sites based in and around the Derbyshire area on a hybrid basis
