# Finance OfficerLocationWiganSalaryDependant on experience**Location:** Bolton**Contract:** Permanent**Hours:** Full-time, 37 hours per week**Working Pattern:** Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–12:00 noon We are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Officer to join our clients team in Bolton. This is a key role within the Finance function, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of payroll, credit control, cash forecasting, and ledger management. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment and enjoy taking ownership of financial processes, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact. **Key Responsibilities:*** Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams and ledgers.* Oversee working capital management and produce accurate cashflow forecasts.* Control weekly supplier and expense payment runs in line with cashflow requirements.* Administer credit control processes to ensure timely cash receipts.* Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.* Complete all month‑end Balance Sheet reconciliations.* Process payroll, including salaries and statutory deductions, in partnership with our payroll provider.* Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure strict data confidentiality.* Provide training, guidance, and development to finance team members.* Support corporate governance, risk management, and internal control procedures.* Assist with the year‑end audit process.* Contribute to key Finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.* Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and grade.**Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills****Essential:*** Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar finance role.* Strong knowledge of advanced accounting and financial principles.* Excellent problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.* Confident communicator with effective written, verbal, and IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).* Highly organised, able to manage workloads and meet deadlines independently.* Strong relationship‑building skills, both face‑to‑face and virtually.* Self‑motivated with the ability to use initiative and work proactively.**What We Offer:*** A stable, permanent role within a supportive team.* Opportunities to contribute to meaningful finance projects.* A positive working environment where your expertise is valued.* A healthy work–life balance with an early finish every Friday.If you’re ready to bring your financial expertise to a role where you can grow and make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. **About NRL** The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
