How you will Energise Our Team This is an exciting opportunity to join Valda Energy as the first Corporate Business Development Manager, playing a key role in shaping and growing our presence across the UK energy market. The role is focused on driving new corporate business and strengthening relationships through Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs), who are central to Valda’s commercial strategy. You will be responsible for developing and managing these partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and shaping commercially competitive deals that support business growth. Working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, you will take ownership of your pipeline and play a direct role in success within a highly competitive market. The day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Be primarily office-based in Bicester, with UK travel as required (typically around 1 day per week) to meet TPIs, build relationships, and drive new business Identify, acquire, and onboard new Corporate TPIs while managing and growing existing partnerships to increase market share Accountable for delivering against key KPIs including volume (MWh), revenue/margin, and conversion through disciplined pipeline development, rigorous opportunity management, and consistent execution Manage and convert opportunities including tenders, multi-site portfolios, and bespoke contracts, working with pricing teams to secure competitive quotes and structure deals (term, risk, margin) Negotiate contract terms, volume commitments, and service expectations with TPIs to maximise commercial outcomes Act as the main point of contact and key bridge between TPIs and internal teams (Sales Support, Pricing, Operations, Billing, Customer Service), ensuring resolution of issues such as billing errors, contract delays, and service performance Maintain accurate reporting including pipeline forecasts, visit activity, and performance tracking, while providing insights on opportunities, market trends, and competitor activity Own and proactively manage TPI relationships and issue resolution, ensuring timely identification escalation, and closure of issues while maintaining strong, accountable partnerships with TPIs The Spark we're Looking For A commercially driven Business Development professional with proven experience in corporate sales and a strong track record of delivering against commercial KPIs (energy or utilities sector experience highly desirable), ideally with exposure to TPI/broker channel Experience managing and growing TPI relationships, with a strong understanding of tendering processes, including multi-site and bespoke pricing opportunities Confident working with pricing teams to support deal structuring, including term, margin, risk, and overall commercial positioning Strong corporate relationship management skills with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with senior stakeholders up to Director level Highly organised and self-motivated, capable of managing a high-volume pipeline including forecasting, reporting, and prioritisation with minimal supervision Strong communicator with excellent negotiation and presentation skills, able to work cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver successful outcomes Hands-on ownership of pricing and tender processes, including developing competitive pricing strategies, preparing and submitting bids, and supporting end-to-end tender activity Perks that Power Your Journey ⭐️ Competitive salary package with a basic salary of up to £43,000 (OTE earnings of £60,000 plus uncapped commission to reward high performance) Fuel allowance to support travel and client meeting 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a length of service award increasing up to 30 days, plus an extra day off during your birthday month Private Medical Insurance with Vitality Health Access to The Grid, our employee engagement and rewards platform, giving you exclusive discounts at hundreds of retailers, wellbeing resources, recognition tools, and more Life Insurance policy, providing coverage at four times your salary Employee Assistance Programme offering confidential support and guidance Enjoy an array of complimentary snacks, drinks, and lunch options in our office Salary sacrifice pension scheme where we will match contributions up to 5% In-house learning and development team devoted to nurturing your talent, unlocking potential and propelling you towards being your best Refer a friend scheme (up to £500), monthly team events, annual company events & recognition awards If you like the sound of this role, we encourage you to apply even if you aren’t confident that you meet all of the requirements – you may be just who we’re looking for.
