Job Description
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Audit Team in Guildford. You will be responsible for planning, performing and completing the audit process for each assignment.
The Guildford office has a diverse range of clients including SMEs, large corporates, charities, LLPs and UK subsidiaries of large multinational groups. Proximity to London and good transport links makes the location easily commutable from many locations, and our client base is also geographically diverse.
The audit team is currently around 30 people, but we are looking to grow. Being part of a smaller office within a top ten firm brings the best of both worlds – a friendly team where everyone knows each other, as well as the training and support of a large firm. The audit team and the wider Guildford office have active social committees with lots of opportunities to network with colleagues and take part in activities such as our running club or a regular quiz night.
As Audit Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
* Regular discussions with the client to confirm progress, identify solutions to any hurdles and ensure reasonable expectations are met.
* Assist and perform training of junior staff.
* Complete job assessment forms for the audit team.
* Perform work in accordance with auditing standards and the firm’s methodology.
* Prepare draft reports and memos (including identification of control weaknesses or areas of improvement) for review by manager.
* Identify and highlight any opportunities for S&W apparent from work undertaken.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
* ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
* Demonstrable UK audit and accounts experience gained within a professional services firm.
* Strong communication skills, both internally and directly with clients.
* Demonstrable experience of supervising others and delegation of work.
* Demonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time.
Additional Information
As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include
* Competitive salary
* Private medical insurance
* Life assurance
* Pension contribution
* Hybrid working model (role dependent)
* Generous holiday package
* Option to purchase additional holiday
* Shared parental leave
* Fully funded training towards professional qualifications

We are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients. At S&W we have a wide range of highly active employee resource groups and we’re delivering multiple diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. It is our commitment to provide a workplace where all colleagues, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, feel respected as individuals and feel that they can achieve their full potential and work in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
We are happy to make any reasonable adjustments to accommodate for your needs throughout the application process. Please let your Recruiter know.
