NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role:

The postholder will transport patients safely throughout the hospital using trolleys, chairs and beds, including regular travel through the link corridor. The role also involves moving clean and dirty linen, transporting waste, collecting specimens and delivering urgent bloods to the appropriate departments to support the smooth running of hospital services.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

* Location based in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary
* Part-time position (30 hours per week)
* Shift pattern are various

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key responsibilities:

* To carry out mortuary duties as per procedures / preparation of cadaver for viewing
* To provide a mail delivery and sorting service to wards and departments
* To move furniture and equipment as requested.
* To deliver Laundry to departments.
* Distribution of medical gases where and when required and application of medical gauges.
* To provide specimen collection and delivery service
* To transport patients from department to department.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

* No experience or qualifications are required for job as full training will be provided.
* Personal requirements required include high standard of personal hygiene, good listening skills, good communication skills, ability to understand and adhere policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality ad ability to use discretion when necessary.
