Description Are you interested in an exciting opportunity to work in a small, friendly team as the Webcasting and IT Team Leader to help us deliver our ambitious change programme? Planning and Environmental Appeals Division’s (DPEA) is an operational division of the Scottish Government making decisions on behalf of and reporting to Scottish Ministers on a range of planning and environmental casework. We routinely webcast public meetings that take place as part of the decision-making process, with events held all over Scotland. As a Webcasting and IT Team Leader, you will lead and coach our team of Webcasting and IT Support staff to provide webcasting services and support the IT systems that deliver a quality planning appeals service for people across Scotland. This role is crucial in ensuring our public facing operations and services perform in line with DPEA’s aims, objectives and values. Responsibilities Manage, distribute and oversee the day-to-day workload of the team, providing support and advice to ensure work is carried out to a high standard. Line manage, support and develop 2 x IT Support Officers, and 1 x IT Support and Appeal Fees Officer. Coordinate and manage the DPEA’s webcasting service. This includes carrying out in person webcasting and virtual meeting duties during times of high demand, which may require sequential overnight stays throughout Scotland. Work with the product manager identify areas for improvement, seek views and opinion of others and work with the team to implement change. Communicate and implement change to internal and external stakeholders via guidance, training plans and other methods to ensure smooth transitions of processes. Responsibilities Qualifications A full UK driving licence will be required to carry out the webcasting duties of this role. This post is based at Hadrian House, Callendar Business Park, Callendar Road, Falkirk FK1 1XR. This post can be done on a hybrid basis but in office attendance at particular times will be required to fulfil the duties of the role. From October 2025, the Scottish Government will require staff in hybrid-compatible roles to work in-person 40% of the time either in an office or other agreed work location.
