About the Role

The SHEQ Site Coordinator plays a pivotal role in embedding and elevating our standards across Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality, with a particular focus on quality assurance and compliance. This role has been created to support our journey toward formal ISO accreditation and to ensure our existing high standards are consistently applied, measured, and improved.

You'll act as the independent voice of SHEQ on site—championing best practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping us build a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Focus (Primary Area)

* Conduct daily CTQ (Critical to Quality) checks aligned with control plans
* Monitor SOP and work instruction compliance on live lines
* Audit despatch for label accuracy and documentation integrity
* Support internal NCR logging and assist with root cause analysis
* Escalate unauthorised deviations or repeated product failures
* Act as the site's quality gatekeeper, ensuring only compliant products leave the site
* Assist in preparing for ISO 9001 audits and documentation readiness
* Collaborate with QA and production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Support the development of systems and documentation aligned with ISO 45001 and 14001 standards

Safety & Health

* Conduct daily safety walkarounds and monitor PPE usage
* Coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings
* Support accident/incident investigations and reporting
* Conduct welfare inspections and support wellbeing initiatives
* Assist with DSE checks and drug & alcohol testing coordination
* Contribute to the implementation of ISO 45001-aligned health and safety practices

Environmental

* Monitor waste segregation, COSHH compliance, and spill kit readiness
* Conduct weekly checks for pollution risks and hazardous material handling
* Support environmental data collection and reporting
* Assist in preparing for ISO 14001 readiness and compliance

Reporting & Documentation

* Submit daily walkaround reports via iAuditor/SafetyCulture
* Maintain accurate logs of findings, actions, and follow-ups
* Participate in monthly SHEQ reviews and daily pulse meetings
* Record attendance and feedback from toolbox talks

Essential Criteria

* Minimum 2 years' experience in a quality, compliance, or safety-related role (preferably in manufacturing)
* GCSE-level education or equivalent
* IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to complete)
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Proven ability to challenge constructively and remain impartial
* Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable Criteria

* Experience in manufacturing, QA, logistics, or warehousing
* Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001 standards
* Experience using iAuditor or similar audit software
* Trained First Aider or Fire Marshal
* Previous experience logging NCRs or audit findings

Additional Information:

· Location: Clayton Glass, Bretfield Court, Dewsbury, WF12 9BG

· Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

* Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum

Education:

* GCSE or equivalent (required)

Experience:

* Quality control, and or Safety: 2 years (required)
* compliance and regulations related: 2 years (preferred)
* Business process improvement: 2 years (required)

Language:

* English (required)
