Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ofsted Residential Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and mentoring young individuals, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals. This position requires a strong commitment to residential youth work, with an emphasis on supporting young peoples transition towards indepedence. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will engage with children, young people and young adults in various settings, fostering a positive environment that encourages growth and development.
Responsibilities
* Provide guidance and support to help individuals navigate personal challenges and develop coping strategies.
* Support the development of important life skills, including cooking, budgeting, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
* Use mentoring/ keywork skills tailored to the specific needs of each individual or group.
* Work collaboratively with other professionals to create comprehensive support plans and risk management plans
* Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, self-esteem, and personal development .
* Monitor and evaluate the progress of individuals, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports for each person.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children, young people and young adults in residential settings and the community
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with individuals and their families.
* A genuine passion for youth work and a commitment to making a positive impact in peoples lives.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
