Structural Engineer Rate: £300 - £325 p/d (inside IR35) Location: Hybrid working – ad-hoc attendance in London office Duration: 6 months Start date: June 26 Our client is a leading organisation delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. With more than 36,000 people across over 70 countries, they are dedicated to improving quality of life. They are seeking a Structural Engineer based in the UK with a strong technical background and some experience in designing structures of different types with varying levels of complexity. They work with a wide range of national and international clients on projects of varying type and size, covering multiple sectors with a strong focus on industrial manufacturing, technology, education, government, and defence. Recent projects include data centres, distribution centres, gigafactories, manufacturing facilities for the automotive industry, microprocessor plants, and a variety of industrial buildings, as well as accommodation, offices, retail premises, schools, and public buildings. They are involved in both design and technical advisory across all project stages, including work on highly secure and complex existing assets. Role Responsibilities: Work within a multidisciplinary team to design structural solutions across a range of projects Coordinate designs with other disciplines and collaborate with BIM modellers to support the production of drawings and deliverables Prepare calculation reports and technical documentation, updating these throughout the project lifecycle in line with quality assurance processes Contribute to project delivery across multiple sectors and varying levels of complexity Qualifications & Experience: Relevant degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Ideally working towards professional qualification (e.g. IStructE or ICE) Existing SC clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance Strong technical grounding in structural engineering principles Familiarity with commonly used structural materials and their practical application on site Experience with structural analysis and design software Strong awareness of health & safety and relevant legislation Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation High attention to detail and ability to self-check work to maintain quality standards Interest in sustainability and delivering sustainable outcomes Willingness to continue learning and developing through research and collaboration For more information on this role, please contact Scarlet Wilson.
