Compliance Officer - Law Firm Hybrid | Exeter or Torquay (Travel to other offices)
Full Time or Part Time considered
We're looking for an experienced compliance professional looking to take on a key role in shaping compliance culture within a growing regional law firm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Officer / Legal Risk & Compliance Specialist to join a supportive team, where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring best practice across the business and have the scope to grow into a wider leadership role.
They're looking for a true generalist to cover every aspect of compliance.
The Role?

* Developing and updating compliance procedures, processes, and controls
\t
* Supporting firm-wide compliance with SRA standards, AML legislation, GDPR and risk reviews
\t
* Conducting compliance checks, audits, and risk assessments
\t
* Drafting and updating template letters, training programmes and policies
\t
* Escalating issues and breaches appropriately, with practical recommendations
\t
* Playing a key role in accreditation processes such as Lexcel, SRA and CQS audits
\t
* Monitoring supervisory meetings, file reviews, and mentoring supervisors
\t
* Providing clear, supportive compliance guidance to lawyers and leadership
About you?
Experience in Compliance specifically in a law firm
Open to a fee earner looking to make a move
Strong knowledge of AML & SRA Codes of Conduct
Excellent communication
Highly organised, proactive and deadline-driven
