Known for lending their expertise to a range of high-profile projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are seeking a capable, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to take on a variety of challenging projects and head-up a newly-established team of design professionals, based near the cultural, historical city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
1. Managing a wide array of engineering developments in a design capacity
2. Overseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, including budget, resources, schedule, and delivery
3. Mentoring and supporting colleagues throughout their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company
4. Managing clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
5. Preparing, checking, amending, and submitting technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
6. Adhering to and enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice
7. Demonstrating commitment to upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
8. Proactively contributing to the company’s business development, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
9. A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
10. Chartered Status
11. Extensive experience of working in a design role, within a UK-based consultancy setting
12. Considerable experience of working with infrastructure (highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
13. Experience of drainage network modelling and earthworks
14. Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar)
15. Demonstrable experience of writing and amending a variety of reports for submission
16. Experience of leading both projects and people
17. Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
18. Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
19. Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
20. Prior experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
21. Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
22. Experience of working in a public-facing role
