Overview
Working with adults and paediatrics in a range of in‑ and out‑patient settings performing non‑invasive cardiac diagnostics, and supporting the Clinical Physiologists. The role includes analysis, training and assessing staff in 12‑lead ECG recording, and some administration duties within Cardiology services. Applicants should study and sit the Award in Electrocardiography within the first 6 months of appointment. Eighteen months of experience as an Assistant Physiologist is essential. Applicants are advised to visit the department prior to interview.
Responsibilities
* Assist in exercise tolerance testing, including myocardial perfusion testing, head up tilt table testing (including active stand and autonomic function testing), 24/48 hour ambulatory ECG analysis, and event recorder analysis, as well as routine non‑invasive diagnostic procedures including ECG, ambulatory ECG and ambulatory BP.
* Support the pacing team in facilitating pacing transfers from other hospitals.
* Help with administration duties within Cardiology services as required.
* Train and assess staff from around the Trust in 12‑lead ECG recording.
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate in Electrocardiography.
* Minimum 18 months experience working as an Assistant Physiologist in Cardiology performing a range of non‑invasive diagnostics.
* Experience in editing MUSE would be advantageous.
Location and Rotations
This post is based at Queens Hospital Burton with rotation to Royal Derby Hospital and our CDCs as part of the working week.
