Regulatory Compliance Analyst – Cosmetics, Electronics & Toys

The Role:
To ensure compliance for our clients' products, including cosmetics, consumer electronics, hardlines, and toys. The role involves interpreting and implementing complex regulations across multiple markets, with on-site support for the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory team.
Main Duties:
Regulatory Monitoring and Interpretation
* Stay updated on UK, European, and international regulations such as UK Cosmetics Regulation, UKCA/CE marking, Toy Safety Directive, RoHS, REACH, EMC, LVD, GPSD.
* Assess the impact of regulatory updates on products.
Compliance Execution
* Review and update labelling standards to ensure compliance with ingredient restrictions, claims, and packaging standards.
* Validate packaging compliance and report on packaging tax liabilities.
* Manage testing programs to meet safety standards, including age grading, heavy metals, and flammability.
* Support third-party testing, certifications, and risk assessments.
Documentation and Technical Files
* Maintain technical documentation, safety data sheets, and regulatory reports.
* Prepare for inspections and coordinate compliance documentation across SKUs and regions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate compliance early in product development.
* Advise on product claims, advertising standards, and legal labelling, ensuring evidence-based claims.
* Work with QA to resolve compliance issues or recalls.
* Communicate with external bodies like test labs, notified bodies, and regulators.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree in Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field.
* Experience in regulatory compliance for consumer products, especially in cosmetics, formulated products, electronics, or toys.
* Familiarity with regulatory databases and submission platforms (e.g., SCPN, CPNP, RAPEX).
* Knowledge of global compliance frameworks (e.g., CE marking, REACH, Prop 65, CLP, ISO 22716).
* Organized team player with excellent communication skills.
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple categories.
* Ability to commute to Coventry twice a week.

This is an office-based role, working 2 days off-site at the retailer. The workweek is 37.5 hours, from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm.
