The Role
We are looking for an experienced engineer who can help drive innovation and deliver great software at pace while also keeping sustainability in mind. We need highly motivated, intelligent people hungry for a challenge.
At FundApps, you'll see the inner workings of a fast‑growing, bootstrapped scaleup where we expect all Engineers to take responsibility for their part in our success, seek support when needed, and care equally about our products and client outcomes as you do about writing code. We solve business problems through technology, not just ship code.
Our Platform team looks after a range of infrastructure, internal tools and development and deployment tools. We are here to enable engineers to make great decisions about running cleaner, cheaper and greener architectures. We are here to build the control plane required which manages hundreds of changes into production per day and helps engineers and customer service folks keep hundreds of client environments running smoothly.
We recently migrated our platform to containerised ECS infrastructure, introduced on-demand audit log streaming to client SIEMs, delivered Cedar‑based authorisation, and are currently implementing AWS WAF.
* Back‑end: Python, C# (You’ll mostly be working with python, c# is the language most other engineers use)
* Infrastructure: Terraform & AWS, using Fargate, Lambdas, Step functions, and a lot more!
* Pipeline: GitHub Actions, Serverless
* Front‑end: React, TypeScript, Rest APIs, React Testing Library, Cypress
What You’ll Be Working On
* Working closely with product experts, the engineering team and team mates within the platform pillar.
* Building new features end‑to‑end with your team across our growing range of products.
* Managing cloud native architectures through IAC
* Teaching and guiding engineers with less experience in infrastructure and how to make great design choices
* Contributing flexibly across the whole stack as needed. Whilst we have .NET at the core of our stack, we’re pragmatic about other technologies and open‑minded about your technology background
* Breaking down complex epics into bite‑sized stories to optimise for flow (we work Kanban‑style).
* Communicating continuously, keeping all stakeholders in the loop.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
* Strong Python, C# or JS Experience
* Experience with modern architecture practices
* WebSockets
* NoSQL Databases
* Experience orchestrating cloud infrastructure
* Deep knowledge of AWS & Boto
* Experience with IAC with one or more of
* Terraform
* Helm or others
* Cloudformation
* We’d like to hear how you have mapped business needs to technical design, implementation and have measured the success of your implementations
* You are a massive infrastructure nerd
* Bring a passion for building tools that our engineers will enjoy using.
A Few Things To Know Before You Apply
The base salary for the role is between £75,000 and £85,000, depending on skills and experience.

We require candidates to have permission to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
We work hybrid and ask that new FundAppers spend 3 days per week at our shiny London office during their first 6 months, to make the most of getting to know the business and other FundAppers.
After that, our policy is at least 2 days per week in the office to collaborate, connect and enjoy our shared space and team activities.
