Join to apply for the Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon role at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust at Colchester Hospital in the Breast Services CDG. ESNEFT is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to join our multi-disciplinary breast unit.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality oncoplastic breast surgery, supporting the breast cancer pathway, and contributing to service development, teaching, and clinical research with commitment to breast surgical services across the Trust as required.
We are inviting applications for two roles (9 PA & 8 PA) – Consultant Breast Surgeon.
Responsibilities
* The appointee will work at the Colchester Hospital site with the expectation of travel to Ipswich Hospital site as required.
* Plan the future development of the service in conjunction with colleagues and take continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and for the proper functioning of the department.
* Provide full-time support in delivering a first-class breast surgery service; experienced in oncoplastic breast surgery with ability to support immediate and delayed breast reconstruction as well as salvage breast surgery.
* Offer a full remit of breast surgery services, including outpatient and theatre lists, and collaborate with colleagues.
* Lead outpatient clinics (rapid diagnosis, follow-up, screening assessment, surgical planning/reconstructive, family history and oncology clinics).
* Participate in a weekly cancer multidisciplinary team meeting and a fortnightly oncoplastic MDT to develop holistic management plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Completed CCT or equivalent (CESR) and must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
* Clinical experience in oncoplastic breast surgery and reconstructive breast surgery.
