Technical Paint Demonstrator Specialist - Sprayer (Automotive) - North of England & Scotland

Due to our continued UK growth and expansion, we are seeking to appoint a Technical Sales Support Specialist and Demonstrator (based in the North of England to cover the North of England & Scotland) to join our technical team.

We are UK distributors for two of the leading manufacturers of car refinishing products Novol & Tulda Refinishing products included are industrial coatings, refinishing supplies, automotive abrasives and consublmaes. Our products include light industrial and commercial transport as well as an exclusive range for the 'Classic Car' sector. This offers a varied range of opportunities for the coatings market.

Gavbiz Ltd is based in Uxbridge and offers UK wide distribution and our central office team are supported by field-based roles.

The Role

As our Technical Sales Support Specialist and Demonstrator, you will be responsible for generating new leads, demonstrating and promoting the features/benefits of our products, negotiating sales, managing existing accounts as well as completing all technical/sales administration and reporting. You will report to and work with our technical manager as well as the National Sales Manager. This role involves hands‑on technical demonstrations, including practical application with a spray gun, to showcase products and support customers in achieving optimal results. Full training will be provided. As an expanding company, there will be future potential for growth and career development.


The main duties will include:

* Arrange and attend business meetings to develop relationships and explore opportunities of sales with existing and prospective customers
* Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers; meet and exceed sales targets
* Promote sales by providing monthly hands‑on training sessions, including spray‑gun demonstrations and application techniques
* Deliver sales items directly to clients as/if required
* Maintain long‑term customer relationships by following the company’s various best sales practices (Account Management)
* Demonstrate and train operatives on behalf of our customers, in best use of our products, both at customer sites and at training facilities, local colleges etc. This includes practical demonstrations with application techniques and hands‑on spraying. It may also involve hosting customer visits to our supplier in Poland.
* Assist with evaluating competition and contributing to the company’s sales strategy
* Analyze/ evaluate potential new and existing customers
* Effective inventory and distribution management
* Deal with any enquiries or complaints and monitor customer service
* Complete all Company sales reports as required (Daily/weekly/monthly, etc.)


The right candidate will demonstrate the following:

* Technical, application / colourist ability on Waterbased, solvent and all the ancillaries, primers and clearcoats (essential)
* Confidence in hands‑on product application and spray‑gun demonstrations (training provided if needed)
* Previous sales experience, including lead generation and account management (desirable but not compulsory)
* Excellent presentation skills
* Work well within the team and on their own initiative
* Have exceptional customer service skills on the phone and in person
* Be an organised and efficient individual, able to run a diary
* Be experienced in or interested in the automotive industry
* Full UK driving licence as role requires the Company Demonstration vehicle to be used for all customer visits. Be comfortable working under pressure and to tight timescales
* Be fluent in MS Office Packages and possibly experience in other sales operating systems
* Be willing to learn, continually increase business knowledge and learn new skills through training and development

It is a requirement of the role that the position holder will be required travel/stay away from home on average 3-6 nights per month
