Start a rewarding career with Foster Careline. We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join our team. Foster Careline is part of the Five Rivers Child Care Group. Five Rivers Child Care is a Social Enterprise committed to transforming the lives of children and young people through reinvesting their surplus in children’s futures. We are seeking to appoint a Supervising Social Worker to provide support to our Foster Carers throughout the Northwest. Reporting into the office rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, your role will be an important support to carers and children.
Our Supervising Social Worker’s days are varied and interesting. You will follow a flexible structure while supporting our foster carers, holding realistic caseloads and providing a high level of supervision, monitoring, and intervention. You will work within a trauma‑informed practice model and support therapeutic practice.
You will have the opportunity to complete Form F assessments, participate in our Children & Young People’s participation and strategy events, and support our foster carers on a rota basis in our out‑of‑hours service. Our leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector, providing up‑to‑date training opportunities and a focus on your personal development goals to help you grow in your career.

We are committed to ensuring that foster carers are recruited, supported, developed, and rewarded for the crucial role they take on when they become part of the Five Rivers fostering family.
Team and Environment
Our team at Foster Careline consists of 12 members and is growing. We have a dedicated and professional team with years of expertise working with CIC and Local Authorities. In addition to permanent staff, we work with independent workers and panel members. We offer fostering and foster care services over a broad geographical area within the North West Region, with families both north and south of the Central Lancashire area.
Hours
Our full‑time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9:00–17:00 and Friday 9:00–16:30. The role is full‑time over 5 days per week.

Requirements
* Good written and IT skills.
* Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
* Able to actively listen to others.
* Formal Social Work Qualification
* Valid Driving Licence
* Have the Right to Work in the UK
