Café Customer Assistant - Hospitality - Foyleside
Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Café, where you'll become a champion of our delightful food and drink offerings, offers, and services. We're seeking passionate individuals who take pride in their knowledge of the latest food and drink trends and are eager to share it with our customers. You'll be a brand ambassador who’s ready to recommend and promote our café menu. Through remarkable service you'll make sure our customers feel truly valued every time they shop with us.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a great shopping and café experience for customers by putting them first and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
* Use digital tools (digital menus and in-store devices) to enhance the customer experience and help customers find what they want.
* Work as part of a team to create an inclusive café environment, supporting colleagues and customers daily.
* Be flexible to work across different areas of the store as demands change.
* Serve and sell across all channels and promote products and services effectively.

* Working Pattern: Sunday 14:00-18:00; Thursday 13:30-17:30; Friday 13:30-17:30; Saturday 13:30-17:30.

Key Accountabilities
* Serve customers efficiently on the shop floor and at service points, maintaining presentation standards and a tidy store.
* Utilise digital tools and communication channels to perform tasks effectively.
* Share customer and colleague feedback to help the business improve.
* Support colleagues by sharing knowledge to build skill and confidence.
* Edit and manage own learning through digital learning solutions; understand daily sales targets, priorities, promotions and selling opportunities.
* Have strong product knowledge to recommend our products and services; proactively engage with customers to understand needs.
* Operate in line with SOPs, control costs and minimize waste; follow safe and legal working practices.

Technical Skills / Experience
* Contributes to store sales and cost control; works across the store to complete tasks accurately and on time.
* Knowledge of customer shopping channels and a good level of product knowledge across the store.
* Up-to-date knowledge of the commercial operation and basic store fundamentals.
* Good level of digital capability and use of digital tools and applications.
* Understand customer needs and spot selling opportunities; adapt to change.
* Knowledge of Visual Merchandising (VM) principles.
