Job Description:
Company Overview: A large public sector organisation based in Ballymena (note: location should match the role location if different) providing environmental services including Food Safety, Consumer Protection, Pollution Control, Licences and Permits, Health and Safety, and Noise Control.
Role Overview: This is a temporary, part-time contract for 9 months, based in Ballymena, reporting to the Principal EHO. The role involves conducting inspections, investigations, and assessments within various Environmental Health functions, which may include:
* Public Health
* Food Safety
* Environmental Protection
* Health and Safety at Work
* Consumer Protection
* Wellbeing Initiatives
* Private Sector Housing
* Dog Control
* Licensing
* Tobacco Control
Requirements: Applicants must have a degree in Environmental Health, membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, and at least 1 year of relevant experience in local government Environmental Health, including knowledge of legislation, enforcement, and stakeholder engagement. A valid UK driving licence and access to transport are also required.
Benefits: Salary between £38,626 and £41,511 (pro-rata), 29.6 hours/week, 4 days/week, 34 days annual leave (pro-rata). This role offers flexibility and valuable council experience.
