The post holder will work with the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist within the Medical team as the Advanced Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist to provide professional, timely, expert, evidence-based, safe and cost effective pharmaceutical advice to NWJCC. They will also provide high quality information and support to stakeholders to deliver improved patient care strongly linked to NWJCC commissioning policies.
They will develop a portfolio of work streams, projects, services, and initiatives in order to deliver NWJCC’s Medicines Optimisation Strategic objectives and priorities.
Through collaboration and partnership with the service providers, the post holder will work to ensure that Medicines Management across NWJCC commissioned services provides best value for money and optimise use of public funding. A key goal for the Medical Team at NWJCC is to ensure that the pharmaceutical needs of the Welsh population are met whilst maintaining prudent healthcare.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for delivering safe, high quality, person-centred medicines optimisation work programs and activities across all services commissioned by NWJCC. The post holder will be a key member of the NWJCC team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective delivery of the medicines optimisation agenda.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
