We have a position for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist. The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based community podiatry within a specific geographical area, under the guidance of the Community Podiatry High Risk Lead, Team Leads, and Operational Manager.
Your responsibilities will include assessing patients' podiatric needs, providing care in various settings such as community clinics and domiciliary visits, and managing your own caseload. You should have broad experience and knowledge of podiatric practice, with a desire to learn and develop further.
You will be an integral part of the podiatry team, actively participating in audits, research, and professional development.
Main Duties:
1. Manage clinical risk within your caseload, seeking guidance as needed.
2. Ensure high standards of clinical care for your patients and support staff.
3. Obtain informed consent prior to treatment.
4. Perform diagnostic procedures using appropriate equipment and interpret results.
5. Conduct neurological and vascular assessments, wound debridement, and manage wounds effectively.
6. Assess, treat, and evaluate outcomes for community podiatry patients with diverse presentations.
7. Perform specialist surgical interventions for complex nail pathologies.
8. Manage domiciliary caseload efficiently within a geographical area.
9. Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and update treatment plans.
10. Communicate effectively with patients and carers, providing sensitive information and gaining informed consent.
11. Teach and assess students, newly qualified podiatrists, and assistants as required.
