About St James Preparatory School
St James Prep School is a co‑educational IAPS day Prep and Nursery School for children aged 2‑11. An oasis of calm in bustling Kensington, the school is resourced with enviable outside space (including a forest school), a fully‑resourced teaching kitchen, science labs and an ICT suite.
The Good Schools Guide describes the School as “Unique. A relaxed, yet focused atmosphere unlike any we have encountered elsewhere.”
The Nursery
The Nursery is a bright, open‑plan space with access to its own little adventure playground, mud kitchen and sandpit, as well as the little forest in the park. Thanks to a varied curriculum and specialist teaching in Performing Arts, Music and Language, your child will have the chance to develop their own unique talents in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
Overview
We are seeking a creative, caring, and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our dynamic and supportive team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
You must hold a Level 3 full and relevant EYFS qualification and be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing high‑quality care and education. A positive, nurturing attitude and a genuine passion for working with children are essential.
You will be someone who is not afraid to share a comforting hug when it’s needed, confidently sing (whether perfectly on pitch or not) in front of others, and happily get involved in messy outdoor play – mud pies included! You’ll join in with imaginative games, enjoy pretend tea parties, and bring joy and enthusiasm to every interaction. Most importantly, you’ll help create a welcoming and inspiring environment where every child can flourish. In return, you’ll become a cherished part of many children’s lives and their families, experiencing the special bond that makes this role so rewarding.
