We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B prison located in Lancashire. The mental health nurse will be based within the healthcare department and will also be required to work on the prison wings.

Hours
* Monday - Friday
* 37.5 hours per week
* 8am - 4pm
Salary
This position is permanent and you will receive an annual salary of between £42,094 and £47,466 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients' mental health needs.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
* Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care, seeking feedback to personalise care.
* Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships, and promote professional boundaries.
* Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* HCPC / NMC registered (Professional registration as appropriate)
* Experience of working within mental health settings and developing knowledge of this patient group
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
Desirable
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environments
