Overview
Band 6 Pharmacists – Acute Service (RIE & WGH). 2.0 wte | Permanent | 37 Hours per week. £41,608 - £50,702 (including evening, weekend and public holiday commitments).

Our Pharmacy Service is rapidly developing. We are recruiting Band 6 Pharmacists across the following areas: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (includes the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People, Edinburgh); Western General Hospital, Edinburgh (includes Edinburgh Cancer Centre).
Responsibilities
* Our Band 6 training programmes are aligned with the NES post-registration foundation programme and provide a structured and supportive environment to develop clinical and non-clinical skills.
* You’ll deliver increasingly complex person-centred care across a range of settings, develop prescribing capabilities, integrate with our pharmacy and wider multiprofessional teams, and, for posts with hospital rotations, work within core department (technical) areas. You’ll be supported by an educational supervisor and experienced pharmacy teams. Details about training bases are available in the Band 6 training base information document.
* Our Band 6 training programmes support professional growth, build networks, and aim to produce well-rounded pharmacists with the mindset and skills to continually improve patient care and service delivery. Site-specific information is provided below.
* The NES post-registration foundation programme includes entry onto an independent prescribing course delivered by one of the universities in Scotland.
About You
* A Masters Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* You should have a relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
* You will have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with a commitment to learning and development.
* The successful candidate will be encouraged to complete the NES Post-Registration Foundation Training programme. Further information can be found in the post-registration foundation training details.
* Ideally you will be an independent prescriber or be willing to work towards this. Independent Prescriber training would be supported if not already achieved. You will be supported by the pharmacy team with a dedicated educational supervisor and protected learning time. Peer support and shared learning are encouraged.
