About the Role
SRT Marine are looking to accelerate some specific product features and in the short term hire some targeted contract engineers to achieve this.
What You'll Be Doing
* Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin (and Java where required)
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver new features
* Translate product requirements and designs into well-structured, testable code
* Ensure app performance, quality, security, and responsiveness
* Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs
* Write unit tests and contribute to automated testing where applicable
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
* Follow Android best practices and platform guidelines
What You'll Bring
* Strong experience with Kotlin (primary)
* Working knowledge of Java (for legacy codebases)
* Native Android app development using Android SDK
* Understanding of Android app lifecycle, components (Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers)
* Familiarity with Gradle and Android build systems
