Role - Project Manager
Location - Oxford
Mint Selection are working with a leading renewable energy developer seeking an experienced on-site Project Manager to lead the construction and delivery of a major energy transition project in Oxford.
This role is suited to a hands-on Project Manager with a strong background in utility-scale renewable generation, energy storage, or major infrastructure projects, capable of managing site operations and coordinating third-party EPCs, OEMs, and ICPs from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
Scope of Work
Take full ownership of the on-site project delivery from mobilisation through to commercial operation and handover, ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and programme requirements.
Act as the asset owner's on-site representative, managing and coordinating EPC, OEM, and ICP contractors.
Oversee all site-based construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to CDM Regulations, NEC contract frameworks, and company procedures.
Monitor and control project cost, schedule, and contractor performance on a day-to-day basis.
Identify, assess, and manage construction risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
Serve as the primary interface on site between contractors, consultants, grid operators (DNO), local authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Manage site reporting, look-ahead planning, progress tracking, and cost forecasting, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
Support procurement, tender clarifications, contract negotiation, and contract administration during construction.
Lead site inspections, quality assurance processes, and commissioning activities to ensure a zero-defect handover.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all works in line with company and legislative standards.
Requirements
Proven experience delivering infrastructure, energy, or renewable projects from pre-construction through to commissioning in a site-based leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and managing third-party contractors.
Experience acting in a client-side or owner's engineer / owner's representative capacity.
Experience coordinating with DNOs, ICPs, grid operators, and local councils.
Strong site management capability with excellent leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
Competent in budgeting, risk management, and progress reporting.
SMSTS (or equivalent) and strong understanding of CDM Regulations essential.
This is a 6-month contract outside IR35 with a full-time required to be on site 5 days per week.
