Join to apply for the Gas Turbine Stress Engineer role at Frazer-Nash Consultancy
We are seeking an experienced engineer in assessing the structural integrity of gas turbines to support our expanding client base in the aerospace and power industries. The role involves using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods to conduct strength, fatigue (low cycle and high cycle fatigue), creep, and defect tolerance assessments of safety-critical parts. You will help develop new designs, resolve operational issues, and justify the life extension of existing assets. Additionally, you will create bespoke software tools to enhance assessment efficiency and accuracy.
You will have the opportunity to lead projects across our diverse portfolio, supporting clients in defence, energy, and transport sectors, working on high-value, high-performance, or safety-critical projects. The role involves managing multiple projects, engaging with clients to understand their needs, and developing approaches to meet their expectations.
While primarily technical, this role requires good interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication. You will report to your Group Leader, be responsible for your work, and support mentoring junior engineers and strategic service development. There will be ample opportunities for professional growth in your areas of interest.

1. A degree in engineering or equivalent; MEng, MSc, or PhD preferred.
2. Technical expertise in mechanical/structural engineering.
3. Experience with FEA software such as Abaqus, Ansys, or SC03.
4. Experience in strength, fatigue, creep, and defect tolerance assessments.
