The Vacancy Join Ocean Housing as a Procurement and Finance Compliance Officer! Location: Stennack House, St Austell Hours: 37 per week (Mon-Fri) Salary: £26,910 per annum Contract: Permanent We’re looking for a meticulous, proactive and values‑driven Procurement and Finance Compliance Officer to join our Procurement team. This is a key role supporting the Strategic Procurement Manager and Head of Finance to ensure procurement, contract management and financial controls across the Group are effective, compliant and deliver excellent value for money. Your Role: In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll: Monitor procurement and contract management activity across Ocean, ensuring compliance with internal policies, financial regulations and procurement legislation Analyse supplier spend, performance and compliance data to identify risks, trends and opportunities for improvement and value for money Administer and continuously develop Ocean's procurement management platform, core procurement registers and supplier onboarding processes Support financial administration, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices and maintaining accurate records Coordinate the Ocean's insurance arrangements, including managing claims and working with external brokers Prepare and support management reporting, KPIs, statutory returns, notices and procurement publications Maintain robust data management practices in line with GDPR and internal policies Promote a culture of equality, diversity, inclusion, health & safety and good governance across the organisation You’ll also play a key role in identifying non‑compliance or systemic issues and escalating them appropriately, helping to strengthen controls and improve services. What You’ll Bring: You’ll be someone who is organised, collaborative and confident working with systems and data. Essential: A Level (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) Strong administrative experience, including accurate data entry and written correspondence Experience using IT systems and databases, including MS Word and Excel Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail Experience providing great customer service and building positive working relationships Understanding of GDPR and health & safety responsibilities relevant to your role Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and work independently when required Desirable: Knowledge of or experience within the social housing sector Knowledge of procurement or contract management in a public sector environment CIPS Level 3 (or equivalent) or working towards a relevant professional qualification Evidence of ongoing CPD and a commitment to learning What are our benefits?
