Euravia Engineering & Supply Co Ltd, a part of Magellan Aerospace Kelbrook, Lancashire has an exciting opportunity for a General Manager.


Job Details

* Full-time permanent position
* Working Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 7:45 am – 4:30 pm / Friday 7:45 am – 12:15 pm (flexibility for additional hours and travel required)
* Job location: Colne Road, Kelbrook, Lancashire BB18 6SN


Role Overview

The General Manager is responsible for all facilities on the Division/Site and assumes full P&L accountability for the business. Working with the Regional Director Operations, the GM refines, develops and oversees the implementation of a strategic business plan aligned with Magellan’s corporate strategy. The GM leads cultural change, elevating the facility to a world‑class status over a multi‑year journey. The incumbent is a leader, coach and manager, setting core priorities, assessing workflows, identifying improvement opportunities and formalizing scalable processes across the organization. The GM brings structure, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure consistent quality, efficiency and compliance within a highly technical and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, refine and oversee a long‑and short‑term strategic business and cultural change plan, aligned to corporate strategy.
* Strategically align with customers, understanding their needs and drivers, and develop plans including delivery commitments, performance measures and pricing.
* Set measurable financial goals (short & long term) that drive profitable business growth; work closely with finance to deliver all financial metrics, including cash and asset management, reporting, corporate & regulatory policies.
* Oversee the development of comprehensive annual business plans (budgets, forecasts, operational targets).
* Ensure divisional operating structure is optimally aligned to achieve efficiencies and support growth; evaluate strengths & weaknesses of the manufacturing team to maintain productivity and a high‑performance culture.
* Improve facility performance through successful implementation and maintenance of Corporate MOS (Magellan Operating System); work with Head of CI to create a long‑term multi‑year CI strategy.
* Utilize agreed performance metrics to measure ongoing strategic success and identify improvement areas.
* Develop in‑depth understanding of the business, build an initial report/strategy highlighting high priority challenges, key stakeholders and support functions.
* Ensure all internal business systems are operating optimally to direct, monitor and measure company resources.
* Develop a strong and well‑functioning senior management team; work with safety and quality teams to embed a safety‑first culture aligned with global standards.
* Grow and develop the site SLT, ensuring compliance with company policies; establish a regular internal & management review process with HR and learning teams to nurture future leaders.
* Develop a culture of operational excellence, creative thought and continuous improvement; champion change and foster a people‑focused culture.

MRO Essential Duties & Requirements

* UK CAA Part‑145 compliance ownership: liaison with Accountable Manager, readiness for audits and MOE change governance.
* Full responsibility as accountable manager at a respected EASA 145 approved MRO facility – all functions and disciplines report into this position.
* Model leadership values and behaviours for the Euravia team, building a mission and vision that supports Magellan and delivers the MRO strategy.
* Provide business reporting and analytics to corporate senior team, building links with other Magellan global MRO facilities and leaders to maximise the value of the MRO footprint.
* Maintain operational compliance in line with relevant safety agencies such as EASA and CAA.

Degree in Business / Aerospace / Engineering or similar. MBA / Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineering / Six Sigma Green Belt desirable.


Professional Accreditations

* Project Management certification is an asset.
* MRO experience is highly desirable but not essential; exposure to business development and strong interpersonal skills highly desirable.


Experience

* P&L responsibility of a company, branch or division of a relevant size and scope.
* Senior management experience in precision/custom engineering manufacturing.
* Operations experience using lean manufacturing tools.
* Experience building and supporting a strong union relationship.
* Experience delivering cultural change and working closely with HR to build a one‑team culture.
* Experience introducing and implementing core basics and knowledge of what world‑class manufacturing facilities should deliver.
* Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end supply chain; knowledge of SAP desirable but not essential.
* Demonstrated mentoring / people development experience.
* Aerospace industry experience is an asset.
* Experience with leading multi‑site operations is an asset.
