You'll bring;Strong understanding of the research landscape and cultural heritage and/or nature related researchExperience producing high quality research based publications or digital contentProven ability to translate complex research into accessible formats for a range of content types and audiencesProven editorial judgement and attention to detail Strong project and resource management skillsConfidence leading work across multiple teams and disciplinesExperience building partnerships with academics, publishers, or cultural organisationsAbility to manage rights, permissions, and editorial processesResearch Advocacy ManagerYou’ll join a collaborative, expert Research Team and report to the Head of Research, working closely with colleagues across Curatorial, Conservation, Nature, Marketing, Publishing and Audiences. We’re a team that’s curious, supportive and passionate about sharing knowledge in ways that connect people with the places we care for.Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon. However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.In this role, you’ll drive the creation of research publications and media that boost the Trust’s profile and influence. You’ll commission and edit books, digital magazine content, sector publications and online content, bringing complex research to life through clear, engaging storytelling. You’ll share the rich knowledge created through research across the Trust’s strategy objectives to Restore Nature, End Unequal Access and Inspire Millions, with a focus on putting people at the heart of our work. About 60% of your output will spotlight research around collections, architecture, archaeology, gardens and conservation, with 40% around our nature and landscape. You’ll deliver our research publications and media content strategy, making sure it showcases the full breadth of our work and connects with our audiences. Partnering with subject experts, Research Leads and the Publishing Manager, you’ll champion high editorial standards and forge strong relationships with academics, publishers and cultural organisations. You’ll lead development of our research magazine, help secure funding and open up new routes to reach wider audiences across diverse communications channels. Project and editorial management will be at the heart of what you do. You’ll lead publishing and media projects from idea to delivery, manage freelancers and contracts, coordinate workflows, and guide colleagues through rights, permissions and editorial processes - ensuring every piece of content is polished, accurate and impactful.The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
