The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven experience managing teams and contractors, and a focus on providing excellent value for money while maintaining safe, compliant, and well-maintained properties. The role: As a Repairs and Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day repair operations, planned maintenance programmes, and contractor performance. You’ll ensure works are completed to a high standard, within budget, and in line with health and safety regulations. This role involves managing both staff and external contractors, monitoring performance, and implementing service improvements to achieve the best outcomes for tenants and stakeholders. What You’ll Do Lead and manage the delivery of responsive and planned repairs services. Supervise internal teams and external contractors to ensure high standards of workmanship and customer service. Oversee budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure value for money. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Analyse performance data, produce reports, and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage complex repair issues, resolving problems quickly and effectively. Work closely with colleagues across housing, asset management, and compliance teams to deliver joined-up services. Contribute to long-term maintenance planning and service development. We are looking for someone with: Proven experience in repairs, maintenance, or asset management, ideally within housing or property services. Strong leadership and team management skills with experience overseeing staff and contractors. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements within a property maintenance context. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with tenants, colleagues, and suppliers. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. Experience using IT systems for monitoring, reporting, and managing repairs/maintenance services. A proactive, problem-solving approach and commitment to continuous service improvement.
