Communications Support Officer – Public Health
Ready to help us make a real difference for families, children, and young people in Hertfordshire? We're looking for a creative, energetic Communications Support Officer to drive our public health nursing message across digital and print channels.
You’ll manage social media, websites, newsletters, and campaigns, building strong connections between the Trust, staff, service users, and local communities. You’ll work with One YMCA, Hertfordshire County Council Public Health, and Hertfordshire Schools to ensure our messages reach families, young people, and professionals.
Key responsibilities
* Support and develop the Trust’s public health nursing presence online, including social media, websites, and other digital or print communication channels.
* Create, update, and maintain accessible and informative content on the website www.hct.nhs.uk and the health‑for‑under‑5s website.
* Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with service specifications and corporate policies.
* Oversee critical communication with key stakeholders such as schools, charities, family centres, early education and daycare providers, and other health providers.
* Plan, organise, and manage workload to deliver an efficient service within changing priorities.
* Implement effective administrative support systems and maximise use of technology.
Qualifications & experience
* Degree in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or equivalent experience.
* Experience working within an operational communications team, balancing proactive and reactive communication requests.
* Track record of delivering successful communication campaigns (social media, public websites, intranet, engagement channels).
* Strong understanding of digital communications and social media.
* Experience building strong and effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Skills
* Excellent planning, project management, and organisational skills.
* Resilient, flexible, and able to work under pressure.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
