Our Centralernment client is looking for an Administrative Officer to join their team on a 10-month contract. The role of the Administrative Officer will be to support the Executive Officer in providing an efficient Front Office service to drivers and key stakeholders across the BCP.
Main Duties:
1. Checking-in drivers and ensuring that the driver questionnaire is completed as accurately as possible.
2. Capturing Tacho times for each driver.
3. Obtaining missing data through investigation and use of IT systems and key stakeholders.
4. Conducting contingency document checks.
5. Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a positive and professional first impression at the BCP.
6. Manage the front desk, handling enquiries, and directing individuals to the appropriate departments.
7. Coordinate administrative tasks related to Border Control Post (BCP) activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Manage schedules for inspections, consulting with BCP teams and relevant authorities.
9. Function as the primary interface between drivers and onsite operations.
10. Efficiently manage the booking-in process on the PINC system.
11. Provide necessary authorization on the PINC system for drivers to exit the site.
12. Allocate appropriate sheds and bays to drivers.
13. Oversee the post-inspection process to ensure compliance.
Key Skills Required:
1. Ability to work effectively with high performance in a fast-paced environment.
2. High standards of interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
3. Previous experience in front of house and administrative roles.
4. Familiarity with government or public sector administrative procedures.
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly to change and competing demands.
6. Experience of working in a customer facing operational environment.
7. Attention to detail when working at pace.
8. Excellent time management.
9. Ability to work in an agile way and problem solve.
In return, you will receive the opportunity to support a major government department, going through large transformation. The possibility to work on a long-term contract (10 months), paying up to £ p/h + holiday pay. This role will be full-time in the office at Sevington, working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. This includes weekends and bank holidays.
