Do you enjoy being out on site, asking the right questions and using evidence to make smart decisions that genuinely improve people's homes? As a Home Condition Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping how we invest in and care for our homes. Working predominantly out in the field across our schemes, you'll spend much of your time on site, carrying out condition assessments and helping to ensure our asset data is accurate, reliable and evidence‑led. This role is ideal for someone who brings energy to their work, values doing the right thing, and applies intelligent analysis to ensure every decision about our homes is well informed and aligned with LiveWest's commitment to safe, high‑quality living environments.
Responsibilities
* Carry out site‑based condition assessments of building components across LiveWest homes.
* Accurately record, update and validate asset condition data.
* Collaborate with surveyors, coordinators and data colleagues to maintain high‑quality, trusted datasets.
* Provide insight and analysis to support the development of evidence‑led asset investment programmes.
* Support improvements to asset data governance and investment planning processes.
* Ensure assessments and recommendations align with organisational priorities, risk levels and customer needs.
Qualifications
* Practical understanding of property condition or building pathology.
* Experience of updating, checking or maintaining datasets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Confident use of Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to work constructively with colleagues across different disciplines, asking thoughtful questions and challenging assumptions respectfully.
* Professional qualification in housing, construction or surveying (or working towards one).
* Experience using Keystone or other asset management, housing or repairs systems (desirable).
Eligibility
* This role is not eligible for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring a CoS.
* Sector: Fixed‑term contract (12 months) or secondment opportunity for internal colleagues.
* Site: Field / scheme‑based role across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, with nearest base office in Tolvaddon, Exeter or Weston depending on location.
* Hours: Full‑time, 37 hours per week.
