Howden Markets Consulting Analyst We are looking for an Analyst to join the Howden Markets Consulting team. We are a currently a team of nine within a broader Howden Markets function of forty-five people, who are focused on supporting the Howden Group with insurance market engagement. As well as working directly on consulting projects, you will also work closely with the wider team, including the Carrier Management and Placement Advisory teams, who are responsible for insurer relationships and the implementation and management of placement facilities respectively. The Howden Markets Consulting team's key outputs include: Bespoke consultancy reports for c-suite audiences with advice relating to (but not limited to): data collection & insights, appetite profiling, jurisdictional or product line expansion, optimal target operating model, market sizing, competitor benchmarking, organisational strategy, distribution profiling, macro-economic contexts and loss profiling and trending. Thought leadership, working closely with our internal business divisions and our design, marketing and communication teams Insurer and business surveys working closely with internal business divisions on creating bespoke content Other standard reports, working closely with the wider Howden Markets team A strategic consultant for both internal and external clients, providing objective, reliable and meaningful knowledge in order to facilitate better informed, more confident business planning and decision making. This role utilises advanced research and analytical skills to present clients and stakeholders with tangible and actionable insight, via formal consulting reports and presentations. The successful candidate should have a general awareness of the insurance industry dynamics, hot topics and the key functions within an insurance broker/insurer. Key Requirements Strong analytical skills Experience in and highly proficient report writing capability Ability to access and assimilate relevant raw data Confident in the use of excel to gather analysis, create data tables and provide insightful output Ability to assess data, condense and convert into cogent graphics Experience in and confidence using PowerPoint & Word to create written reports & presentations Strong presentational skills and confidence in presenting to CEO/CUO level Excellent attention to detail Ability to explain complex analysis to diverse audiences Ability to think laterally and creatively Ability to recognise trends and development in the market place generally and that will have meaningful impact to relevant audiences Ability to work with a range of teams and individuals on a global basis Preferable Candidates: University graduate with a degree which incorporated a numerical aspect, if possible Strong interest in the insurance industry and robust market knowledge Previous insurance industry experience within a broker or consulting firm is preferred but not required Industry qualified or progression toward an industry qualification (e.g. ACII, ACA or equivalent) is preferred but not required Our Culture: People First We've travelled far since opening our first office in 1994.
