Position Summary
This is a 12‑month post based at University College Hospital in the Gastroenterology Department.
Key Responsibilities
The post-holder will contribute to inpatient care on the ward, participate in specialist multidisciplinary team meetings and gain experience in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, GI physiology, and other specialist GI services. The role will include protected time for clinical audit, service improvement and research, and may allow an active role in undergraduate teaching.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a Doctor who has completed Foundation Year 2 or the IMT and is intending to apply for a Gastroenterology Specialist training rotation. Terms and conditions are in line with national agreements.
About the Department
Our UCLH Gastroenterology unit is one of the largest in the UK, with 14 consultants covering subspecialties such as clinical nutrition, oesophagogastric/laser medicine, inflammatory bowel disease, GI physiology, and pancreaticobiliary medicine. The department hosts weekly educational meetings, including journal clubs, MDTs, a morning report, and seminars with invited speakers, and maintains a committed audit programme.
