Robert Half are working with a leading international manufacturing business to recruit a Commercial & Supply Chain Coordinator.

This is a full time, permanent role, based in Swindon and offering hybrid working.
The Role
This is a broad, commercially focused supply chain role within a fast-paced, technical manufacturing environment. The position plays a key part in ensuring material availability, cost control and margin performance, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and accurate system data.
The successful candidate will combine analytical capability with operational coordination, supporting both day-to-day supply chain execution and wider commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Purchasing
* Operate the MRP system to generate and manage purchase and subcontract orders.
* Ensure supplier confirmations meet agreed pricing and lead times.
* Expedite orders where required to protect customer service levels.
* Coordinate subcontract activities and monitor external processing.
Inventory & Systems Control
* Maintain accurate stock records and planning parameters within the ERP system.
* Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
* Balance material availability with working capital optimisation.
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials and master data records.
Commercial Performance
* Review purchasing activity to identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Validate pricing against quotations and agreed supplier terms.
* Support gross margin analysis and reporting.
* Identify underperforming product lines and implement corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate supplier and customer price lists.
Supplier & Compliance Management
* Act as a central contact for supplier queries and issue resolution.
* Manage supplier quality concerns and associated cost recovery.
* Ensure compliance with import requirements and relevant packaging regulations.
* Support internal reporting and KPI monitoring.
About You
You will be commercially aware, detail-oriented and comfortable working with data and systems. The role requires strong organisational skills and the confidence to liaise with suppliers and internal teams at all levels.
Essential experience and skills:
* Experience within a supply chain, materials planning or purchasing role.
* Strong Excel capability and confidence working with ERP systems.
* Analytical approach with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
* Clear communication skills and proactive problem-solving ability.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable:
* Exposure to SAP or similar systems.
* Experience supporting costing or margin analysis.
* Background in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
