The Role
Bolton Council has adopted an ambitious climate change strategy aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030. The estate includes historic town halls, museums, offices, investment properties, and community assets.
As the Energy Manager, you will oversee the strategy, operational management, and compliance of the organisation's property sustainability plans. Your role involves leading energy management across council properties, contributing to climate change initiatives by reducing environmental impact, carbon emissions, and resource consumption. You will develop and implement sustainable management practices for all operational buildings and serve as the council’s champion for energy targets.
About You
We seek an experienced professional committed to reducing energy and water use to support our 2030 goals. You should have excellent knowledge of energy management, including monitoring, controlling, and optimizing energy consumption to reduce costs and environmental impact.
A good understanding of legislative requirements and building services is essential. The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant field or demonstrate relevant experience in sustainability, energy, water management, carbon reduction, and decarbonisation.
