£12.71 per hour (applies to all, including those under the age of 21)
YHA York is looking for a Night Team Member to join our vibrant hostel! In this role you will be checking in guests, serving at the bar, cleaning and maintaining our public spaces, conducting end and beginning of day till processes, resolving guest issues, serving our groups and conducting regular security walks, ensuring the safety of all our guests. The normal working hours for this role will be 10pm-7am and 6pm-3am across the week, including weekends.

What will you be doing as a Night Team Member?
We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including:
Ensuring the security of the hostel, making every guest feel safe and welcome
Working on reception, providing support to guests and preparing necessary reports
Regular inspections to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort
Carrying out cleaning duties, helping to prepare the breakfast service, and covering various tasks to ensure a seamless guest experience
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Night Team Member?
Our Night Team Members undertake a wide range of customer facing duties within the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors.
To provide this service to our guests we are looking for the following qualities in our Night Team Members:
Excellent timekeeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts punctual, can work to deadlines
Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
A food safety qualification would be beneficial (desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA what YHA does and how we do it
Demonstration of our HEART values theyre part of everything we do, and we look for people who bring them to life in their everyday work
