Leader of Ysgol Bro Banw Specialist Provision
Grade: MPS/UPS (£32,433 - £49,944) + TLR 1A (£9,955) + SEN1 (£2,728)
Ysgol Bro Banw is looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner/manager to lead its Canolfan Yr Enfys and Foundation Phase Unit educational provision for pupils with additional needs. Ysgol Bro Banw meets the needs of a diverse range of pupils who are educated within a specialist provision, attached to a mainstream school. Pupils placed in these classes receive specialist support according to their individual needs. Canolfan Yr Enfys has :
* Two specialist autism classes
* One class for pupils with PMLD
* One class for pupils with SLD
There are also two Foundation Phase Observation and Assessment Units and a Speech and language Unit located on the infant site.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience of managing staff
* Have experience of working with children and young people with a high level of additional need (candidates from both primary and secondary teaching backgrounds will be considered)
* Have the ability to lead staff in providing consistently outstanding lessons
* Ignite a Passion for Learning in all our pupils
* Be creative and dynamic
* Organise and implement a diverse, flexible curriculum and implement an effective assessment framework
* Have the skills to form excellent working relationships with all pupils, parents and multi agency partners
* Have a specialist qualification for Special Needs, be working towards a qualification in this field or be prepared to undertake such a qualification
