The School and Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND PSHE Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Hurworth-on-Tees. The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering high-quality Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
This role is vital in equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive both in and beyond school. The teacher will adapt the PSHE curriculum to meet the individual needs of learners, ensuring lessons are engaging, accessible, and inclusive.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEND PSHE Teacher you will:
1. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism – Ideally Maths and/or English.
2. Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to: MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs.
3. Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting.
4. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA’s
5. Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons.
