Primary Learning Support Assistant - The Calder Learning Trust
Prime Objectives of the Post: To provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND as well as small group and classroom assistance. Work as part of a team to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. To support individuals and small groups of children in order to accelerate their progress and learning in curriculum areas and in wider extra-curricular experiences. To promote independence with learning that enables a young person to make accelerated progress and achieve positive outcomes.
Principal Duties
* Be aware of, and respond appropriately to, the academic and emotional needs of individual pupils.
* Work closely with classroom teachers to support the individual learning needs of pupils with SEND.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
* Provide consistent academic support to identified individuals or groups.
* Deliver on all necessary intervention programmes and planned group work.
* Promote self-esteem and independence, employing strategies to recognise and reward achievement within established school procedures.
* To support pupils with routines and movement around the school.
* Ensure the health, safety and welfare of students is maintained at all times.
* Support pupils during assessments.
