Premier Work Support are recruiting for an experienced permanent Transport Manager to join a busy and supportive environment in Horley. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide a dedicated transport team, ensure smooth and safe operations, and contribute to delivering an excellent service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and manage a team of 21 colleagues (19 drivers and 2 office-based).
* Oversee a fleet of 21 vehicles, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and well maintained.
* Coordinate approximately 250 daily deliveries, mainly across the South East and London, with some further afield.
* Work towards maintaining FORS Bronze and Silver standards (experience desirable).
* Manage budgets and resources effectively while ensuring service quality.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
* Encourage a positive and collaborative team culture, offering training and support.
* Help improve delivery routes for efficiency and sustainability.
* Maintain strong customer service, ensuring deliveries are accurate and on time.
* Contribute to sustainability initiatives by reducing environmental impact.
* Support with incident management and follow-up actions where required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a Transport Manager role within logistics or a similar operation.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
* Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and transport regulations.
* Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to support and motivate others.
