We are seeking an organised and customer-focused People Team Administrator to provide an effective, professional and confidential administrative service across the full employee lifecycle, from leavers to starters. Working as part of the People Team, you will support the People Partner model, helping to deliver the team's objectives and contribute to the Council's wider delivery plan. This role is central to ensuring a high-quality people service, with a strong focus on communication, accuracy and customer care. The variety in this role makes it ideal for someone who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and delivering a responsive, people-centred service. Key Responsibilities Act as first point of contact for HR-related queries from managers, employees, and external stakeholders via phone, email, LiveChat, post and social media. Manage the full employee lifecycle administration including recruitment, onboarding, payroll input, learning and development, formal meeting support and offboarding. Produce and issue employment documentation (contracts, offers, variations) with appropriate oversight. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the People Team and People Partners, including projects, training courses and events. Maintain accurate, confidential and compliant records across HR systems, databases and trackers. Raise invoices, purchase orders and complete reconciliation and goods receipting. Support continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures. About You The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths and English, with an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience. You will have strong customer service experience, confidently handling enquiries across multiple communication channels, and demonstrate excellent administrative and IT skills with the ability to manage several systems at once. With experience of handling challenging queries and knowing when and how to escalate appropriately, you will be organised and able to prioritise and multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
