Ready to lead a subject that gets students thinking?

Some lessons teach content. Psychology teaches students to question, analyse, challenge, and understand the world around them.

A forward-thinking secondary school in Redbridge is looking for an inspiring Head of Psychology to lead and grow a thriving department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Psychology teacher who’s ready to take the next step, or an established Head of Department looking for a new challenge.

You'll be joining a school where academic ambition and student wellbeing go hand in hand, and where subject leaders are trusted to make a real impact.

What you'll be doing

* Leading and developing the Psychology curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5
* Driving excellent outcomes and a love of learning within the subject
* Supporting, coaching, and inspiring colleagues within the department
* Monitoring student progress and implementing effective intervention strategies
* Championing innovative teaching and learning practices
* Contributing to the wider life of the school and its continued improvement journey

What we're looking for

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A strong track record of teaching Psychology at GCSE and A-Level
* Experience of curriculum planning and assessment
* The ability to inspire both students and colleagues
* High expectations and a commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes
* Previous leadership experience is desirable, but talented teachers ready for progression are encouraged to apply

Why this school?

This is a school where staff are genuinely valued and supported. You'll find:

* A collaborative and welcoming leadership team
* Motivated students who enjoy learning
* Excellent CPD and leadership development opportunities
* Well-resourced classrooms and facilities
* A strong focus on staff wellbeing and work-life balance
* Opportunities to shape the future direction of the department
