We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and with good communication and interpersonal skills to join our inpatient pharmacy team at Yeovil District Hospital.
This is a full‑time post rotating between the dispensary and distribution areas of the inpatient pharmacy. Working hours will be 9am‑5.30pm (1hr unpaid lunch) Monday to Friday. One of these days will need to be a later shift of 9.30am to 6pm. We work approximately 1 in 9 weekends (Sat and Sun) and one bank holiday. You will need to be willing to take part in a basic level training programme as advised by the GPhC. Previous pharmacy experience would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. You need to be willing to take part in all mandatory training and relevant accuracy assessments.
Main duties of the job
Dispensary: Dispense prescriptions accurately for YDH wards, Somerset community hospitals, St Margaret's Hospice in Taunton and Somerset mental health teams etc. Assisting in a range of other Dispensary related duties as required e.g. covering reception and topping up of consumables.
Distribution: You will carry out a medicines top‑up service on wards and will assist with other medicines related duties i.e. picking stock, medicines expiry checks, stock checks and returning medicines. You will be required to carry out some heavy lifting in the IV store although this work is rotated between the team members and is only for a small portion of the day.

Qualifications
* Good general education to include Science, Maths and English at grades A* to C or equivalent or 4 and above.
* NVQ2 or Btec 2 modules in dispensing services or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience of working with the public in a customer service type role.
* Experience of working with a variety of software.
* Experience of working in a team.
